Jeffrey Lance

Youth Philharmonic Conductor

Mr. Lance is currently the Director of Bands at Silverado High School and has taught there for over ten consecutive years. Known as one of the best and largest band programs in the Clark County School District, his work with the students has won many coveted marching band awards both regionally and locally. In addition, Mr. Lance is a low brass instrument specialist, and has been the woodwinds and brass coach for the Las Vegas Youth Orchestras at both the 3rd and 4th ability level (Youth Symphony and Youth Philharmonic). He has held this position for the past six years and achieves great success in working with his wind sections.

His credentials include a Bachelor's in Tuba Performance from Brigham Young University along with a Masters in Tuba Performance from the University of New Mexico. Since 1995, Mr. Lance has played professionally as a freelance Tubaist. Popular with students because of his talent to teach young people, he started giving private lessons in 1993 and continues to teach privately today.

His scope of orchestral experiences include: extensive conducting course study (collegiate), performing with the Utah Symphony, Utah Valley Symphony, Santa Fe Symphony, and The Mormon Tabernacle Choir. He has also performed on various recording sessions for movie soundtracks and other projects. He currently resides in Las Vegas, Nevada with his family.
