JaNae Taylor
Las Vegas Youth Sinfonia Conductor
Ms. Janae Taylor is the Conductor of the Youth Sinfonia. Born and raised in Atlanta, GA, she holds a Bachelors degree from Stetson University in Florida and is currently working on her Master's degree. At present, she is the Orchestra Director at Del Webb Middle School in Henderson, NV.
Ms Taylor taught at Lawrence Junior High School for four years. While there, she built one of the most highly-respected middle school orchestra programs in the district. She went on to teach part-time at Bonanza High School.
In addition, Ms. Taylor was a Bass coach for the Las Vegas Youth Orchestras, an instructor at the Las Vegas Bass Workshop, and has served as an adjudicator for the Solo and Ensemble Festival. She worked as the Orchestra Project Facilitator for the Secondary Fine Arts Division, at the Clark County School District. As Project Facilitator she provided support to the orchestra directors district-wide, by organizing professional development opportunities, mentoring, and helping to organize orchestra events such as festivals and Honor Orchestra. She continues to do this today, in a voluntary and advisory capacity, and as Orchestra Task Force Chair.
Ms. Taylor is a passionate music educator. She believes that music is an essential part of a quality, well-rounded education, providing students with many opportunities and learning experiences that cannot be duplicated. It is her hope to serve as an advocate for music through her work as a conductor, musician and teacher for many years to come.
