Orchestra Description
Course Description
- Approximately 32 rehearsals over two semesters, meeting once a week for 1.75 hours per rehearsal session
- Study and preparation for season's three concerts
- Added enhancement and refinement of basic string orchestra skills
- Preparation for playing in upper level group with full symphonic complement
- Training in artistry needed to develop into effective orchestra members
- Occasional visits with guest conductors and occasional special event performances
- Opportunity to work in sectionals with professional section coaches
- Cultivation of discipline, skills, technique and confidence required to develop their talents
- Role model for Ensemble students
- Opportunity to develop friendships with select musicians county-wide
