The Las Vegas Youth Orchestras is an after-school youth program made possible by the co-sponsorship of the Clark County School District, The Friends of the Las Vegas Youth Orchestras, and the City of Las Vegas (Dept. of Leisure Services, Performing Arts Division).

Rehearsals & New Absence Procedure

LVYO Normal Rehearsals are as follows:

Youth Phil (Jackson)- Rehearsal Thursdays at Reed Whipple Cultural Center (RWCC), 5:45-8:30 p.m.

Youth Symphony - Jackson Wednesdays at RWCC, 3:30-6:00 p.m.

Sinfonia - Taylor Wednesdays at RWCC, 6:30-8:00 p.m.

Ensemble - Kovacs, Ingrid Thursdays at RWCC, 3:45-5:15 p.m.

General Updates

The Las Vegas Youth Orchestras 2010-2011 Season starts with rehearsals for Wednesday groups on Sept. 1st and Thursday groups on Sept 2nd. All rehearsals are at Reed Whipple Cultural Center, 821 Las Vegas Blvd. No., Las Vegas, NV 89101, unless otherwise advised.

Parents and students please note there is a new absence system for reporting tardies, absences or early dismissals. Go to the student's account and log in via the website. You will be prompted to complete an absence notice. Do not call absences into the office on the phone line. Notification of absence must be a minimum of 3 hours prior to rehearsal start time.

Parent Orientation will be held on Sept 1 & 2 in Rehearsal Room #2, while students are rehearsing and will commence once rehearsals get started.

Tour Members, parents of Tour Members, and Guests on Tour - there will be a Tour Meeting on Thurs. Sept. 9th in Rehearsal Room #2.

ANNOUNCING TOUR 2011 "The Road to China" (June 20-29 tentative) Tour is ALL INCLUSIVE, ten days. Performances at three world-class venues are scheduled, along with activities introducing students to Chinese culture and historical landmarks. Youth Phil Seniors (graduating 2011) are eligible to participate. Parents & Fans are welcome to join us! No children under 10 years of age.
