Orchestra Description
- Brass, Woodwind and Percussion Students
- Grades 6-8
Course Description
- Approximately 31 rehearsals over both semesters, meeting once a week for 1.75 hours per rehearsal session
- Rehearsal and preparation for season's three concerts
- Added enhancement and refinement of basic performance skills on their own instrument
- Preparation for playing in upper level LVYO Wind Sections
- Training in artistry needed to develop into effective band members
- Occasional visits with guest conductors
- Opportunity to work in sectionals with professional section coaches
- Cultivation of discipline, skills, technique and confidence required to develop their talents
- Opportunity to develop friendships with select musicians throughout the county
- Preparation for full symphonic ensembles
