The 2017 - 2018 Las Vegas Youth Orchestra season has begun. All rehearsals are at the Roy Martin Middle School which is located at 200 N 28th St, LV NV 89101. Students are currently attending weekly rehearsals in prepartation for the annual Fall Concert on October 12th. This concert will start at 6 pm and will take place at the Artemus Ham Concert Hall located at UNLV.
The Las Vegas Youth Orchestras consists of five separate ensembles based upon age (from eight to eighteen) and playing ability. It is a diverse group comprised of over 385 students from the Las Vegas valley, and is an after-school program which serves the youth in Southern Nevada.
The Las Vegas Youth Orchestras is licensed by ASCAP, BMI & SESAC, and is an educational affiliate member of the National Guild for Community Arts Education…"Opening Doors To Excellence In Arts Education" "This program has been funded, in part, by the Nevada Arts Council, a state agency, and the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency."
In partnership with the Clark County School District, local arts organizations and artists have joined together to Ensure the Arts for Any Given Child in Southern Nevada. The goal of this initiative is to increase equity and access to the arts for all students. This organization is a proud member of the original Community Arts Team of this initiative.
