Gregory Maldonado served as the Director of the Las Vegas Youth Orchestra Concert Strings from 2019 to 2019, and also worked as a sectional coach for LVYO. Currently, Maldonado holds the positions of Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of the Nevada Chamber Orchestra, drawing from over 35 years of experience leading professional ensembles.

Besides conducting, he has been playing the violin and viola for more than 40 years and has performed with various orchestras, including Philharmonic Baroque Orchestra, Los Angeles Opera, Long Beach Opera, Santa Fe Pro Musica/Santa Fe Opera, Monterey Symphony, Fresno Philharmonic, Nevada Pops, and the Las Vegas Philharmonic. He has also shared the stage with artists such as Glen Campbell, Carol Channing, Sammy Davis Jr., Liza Minnelli, Frank Sinatra, Jackie Evancho, and Martin Fontaine in "The Elvis Experience" as Elvis Presley.

Additionally, Maldonado held the role for two decades as Principal Conductor and Leader of the Los Angeles Baroque Orchestra, an acclaimed period-instrument ensemble.

He holds a doctorate degree from USC, a master's from CSULB, and a bachelor's from UCLA. His passion for music education led him to teach at various universities and colleges for over 25 years, including UCLA, USC, CSULB, UNLV, and CSN.

Dr. Maldonado is the Director of Orchestra at West Career and Technical Academy in Las Vegas. His dedication to teaching has been recognized through his nominations as a Finalist for the "Heart of Education Award" in both 2022 and 2023. He actively contributes to the music community as the Nevada All-State Orchestra Southern Chair, and he often appears as a judge and clinician for music festivals and competitions in California, Nevada, and Utah.

Dr. Maldonado has also been Guest Conductor for the Nouveau Chamber Ballet and the San Diego Chamber Orchestra. He is a member of AFM Local 369, and has recorded music on various labels, including Harmonia Mundi, RCM, Centaur, and Rococo.
